Five Women Fiction Writers on War

I was asked to contribute a column to Vela Magazine about my five favorite fiction writers on war and military families: Siobhan Fallon, Stephanie Vaughn, Cara Hoffman, Katie Schultz, and Maile Meloy. Feel free to check it out, as well as Vela Magazine in general — it’s a great publication, mostly nonfiction, with some essays that will stick with you for ages.

  1. Hats off! Great piece. I especially love the 3rd paragraph! I may be a touch biased, but I just really love your voice. It feels like a friend (a really smart friend) is just chatting me up when I read your stuff. Kudos!
